  4. We keep our tank design, but we use new storage principle. Doubled Hot water capacity.

  5. Doubled DHW capacity without the help of the immersion heater. Priority valve control on DHW – Allows fast charging of the upper tank at high temperature  for quick and secured Hot Water comfort. Hot water is loaded and distributed from the hot upper tank

  6. Best COP of the market! Reaching COP of 4.6 at W35/30 - EN14511 Electronic expansion valve control as standard. Max return temperature to the cooling modules is 58 ̊C. Completely closed module and better insulation Max. temperature from comp. up to 67 ̊C.

  7. Prepared for EcoDesign Requirement for Eco Design – 1 jan 2013 Cooling module is equipped with A-Class pumps • Charging pump as standard • Brine pump as option for now (standard in Inox version)

  21. System CTC EcoHeat 300 Gives You… • Buffer volume between compressor and heating system, without noise. • Accurate temperature to the heating system, higher comfort. • Correct flow in the condenser, excellent for the compressor. • More hot water. • Energyflex. • Flow independent heating system.

  22. CTC EcoHeat 300 – in Detail… Overview of the control system, tank and refrigeration module Charging of the tank Components Control system

  23. The product Standard - Brine vessel - Outdoor and room sensor - Primary flow sensor - Safety valve 3 bar - Safety valve 9 bar - Connection pipes for the cold side - Current sensors Accessory kit - Expansion vessel - Radiator pump - Mixing valve - Brine coupling, (filling-) dim 25 (alt 32) Other accessories - Wireless room sensor - Speed control brine pump - Internet access - BMS - SMS control - EcoSol

  24. Accessory Brine filling kit

  25. Display/Control system • - Large, clear touch display i colour - 4.3” • - User friendly menu system focusing on clarity, facilitating the installation • (installation guide) • - Option for 2 wireless room sensors (accessories) – 2 heating zones. • - Prepared for Internet, BMS and SMS • - USB – updating the control system • - Standard communication protocol - ModBus

  26. Tank Construction • - Improved internal tank construction to increase the domestic hot water capacity (insulated divider and new genomströmningsrör). • - New tank charging principle to reduce the need for the immersion heater and to increase the DHW capacity. • - High charging temperature from the heat pump (up to 67°C) enables a high DHW supply without the immersion heater. • - Up to 280 l 40°C @ 8l/min, (before: 125 l) without using the immersion heater. (Summer mode – without heating). • - General impression – reinforced front

  27. Tank Charging Brine out Brine in Charging - top Charging – lower part Return - condenser

  28. Conditions – Tank Charging Charging of the upper tank The DHW charging starts when the upper sensor goes below its set point (factory setting 55 ⁰C), and stops when the sensor reaches its set point. (factory setting 60 ⁰C). The mixing valve closes during the DHW charging, since it has a max Δ of 30 ⁰C. This ensures that the cold water return from the radiators doesn’t inhibit the DHW from reaching a sufficient temperature. Δ T depends on the temperature in the lower tank. charging starts , tank upper sensor (55) charging stops, tank upper sensor (60) lower tank (primary flow temp.) 2 3 1 2 1 3

  29. Conditions – Tank Charging • Charging of the lower tank • The same conditions as for the EcoHeat 3.0, i.e. starts at the primary flow set point (lower tank sensor) and stops at 5 ⁰C above. • When charging, the control system maintains a Δt of 7 ⁰C over the condenser.

  30. Components Overview DHW connections Bivalent mixing valve Upperpart Insulation (PUR) Flow direction valve Finned coil for domestic hot water Insulated divider (10 mm) Immersion Heater (0,3-9 kW) Condenser and evaporator Lower part Sound insulation (Betumen) Speed control heat carrier pump Brine pump Compressor Electronic expansion valve

  31. Refrigeration module • - Considerably improved COP – up to 4,6 @ 0/35 (EN 14 511) • - Electronic expansion valve optimizes the refrigeration system performance at each • operating point (thermostatic expansion valve optimized at one operating point). • - Full system surveillance • - Speed controlled charging pump (A class) as a standard feature • - Speed controlled brine pump as an accessory • - Max primary flow from the condenser at DHW charging: • 67°C • - Max primary/return over the condenser: 67/58°C • (against lower tank)

  32. Components – Heat Exchangers The plate heat exchangers are from SWEP. The SWEP distribution technology ensures that the evaporator is optimally used. A calibrated distribution system in the evaporator inlet creates pressure drop and generates turbulence, which improves the distribution of the refrigerant. Condenser Evaporator

  33. Technical data – Power and COP

  34. Components – Circulation pumps Charging pump - Speed controlled low energy pump - Wilo Stratos TEC 25/6 (EH306, 308) - Wilo Stratos TEC 25/7 (EH310,312) Brine pump - WiloTOP-S 25/7 (EH306, 308, 310) - WiloTOP-S 25/10 (312) EcoDesign 1 Jan 2013 – A-class outside the product EcoDesign 1 Jan 2015 – A-class in the product Brine pump Charging pump

  35. Thermostatic versus electronic Expansion Valve • Thermostatic expansion valve: • - Optimized within a minor operation area, all other operating points • inside the envelope are “compromises”. • - Can not change its settings for different operation points • Electronic expansion valve: • - Can change its settings for any operating point, and continuously • supervises the refrigeration system. Operates with a pre set value on • the super heating. • Uses constantly the evaporator to its optimum, in relation to the operation, which also means that the operational costs are optimized. • Updating via USB Electronic expansion valve

  36. Components - Compressor • EcoHeat 306 • - Mitsubishi AEH 33 • - The latest version of Mitsubishi heat pump compressors • - Better performance than Copeland ZH15 (EA105, EP5) • New technology – Hot gas super heating • Uses suction gas super heating as well as hot gas super heating => • wider operation area and improved performance • EcoHeat 308, 310, 312 • - Copeland ZH 21, 26, 30 => corresponding to EH 7,5, 8,5, 10,5 • => the 300 series has a higher power than the V3 • A higher cooling power demands a deeper borehole • A higher COP increases the energy outtake from the borehole

  37. Components – Sensors and Pressostats High pressure switch - 31 bar High pressure sensor Supervises the operating area of the compressor and the expansion valve Schrader valves Low pressure sensor Supervises the operating area of the compressor and the expansion valve Suction gas exchanger - Uses the hot condensate to superheat the suction gas => the evaporator is used for evaporation only, and not for superheating

  38. Suction Gas Exchanger
