  2. Location • Absolute Location is the exact place on earth where a geographic feature, such as a city, is found. Ex: Humble High School is located at 1700 Wilson Road Ex: Houston is located at 29° 45' 47" N / 95° 21' 47" W • Relative Location describes a place in comparison to other places around it. Ex: Humble High School is next to McDonald’s Ex: Houston is south of Dallas

Put a compass in the lower right corner of your map Northern Hemisphere Equator Western Hemisphere Eastern Hemisphere Southern Hemisphere Prime Meridian Label the Eastern and Western Hemispheres Label the Northern and Southern Hemispheres Draw and Label the Equator and Prime Meridian, write the definition of both terms in your notebook

  4. Equator is the imaginary line that divides the north and south halves of the earth • Prime Meridian is the imaginary line that divides the east and west halves of the earth
