  4. Style: • Tone: The tone of this poem gives off a positive feedback. • Mood: Happiness along with calming was expressed as the mood throughout the poem. • Theme: The theme would be the idea that this poem Is based off of a river.

Style: • Examples Of The positive Tone: “Flowing Water” “The Mind” “Likeness” These are words that relate to a positive energy, inflicting a calming and peaceful attitude within this poem. • Examples Of The Happy/Calming Mood: The examples for the positive tone are the same for the mood. The descriptions of this river and how it works with the mind and its surroundings expresses calming features. And with calmness naturally comes the feeling of happiness.

Interpretation: • With this poem William Carlos Williams is honest and image driven. • This river transfers to your mind through sight and lives there, somewhat takes on a new life. • Because it has such a peace baring sense to it, along with the given tone and moods positive with happiness and calmness.
