  2. Comparing Words Compare and contrast words to describe Antek and Jonek In small groups ‘mind map’ different words that can be used to describe the two brothers and how they felt in the story.

  3. Reviewing the story What did Jonek/ Antek do? Why did they act this way? What do you think Antek should have done? What do you think Jonek should do? What happens next?

  4. After the story Were you right with your prediction? Do you think Antek got what he deserved?

  5. Writing an account • Think about the moral of the story – “Treat others as you want to be treated” • What it was like for the two brothers, in both parts of the story? • How did they feel, what were their actions? • Write an account or diary entry from the point of view of one of the brothers at an important point in the story • Some important points might be; • The first time Jonek asks Antek for help • When Antek releases Poverty • When Jonek tries to help his suffering brother
