  3. 2011 STRATEGY • Attract more customers • Develop the market to be a destination for families and people of all ages • Diversify Market Vendors • Maintain market integrity by ensuring all vendor comply with public health regulations.

  4. ATTRACT CUSTOMERS • Survey Monkey Results • Our marketing strategy focuses more attention on social media to attract young people and families to the market. • Promote and encourage healthy choices for a better lifestyle. • Encourage a continual improvement on boothmanship for consumer attraction and market growth.

  5. ATTRACT CUSTOMERS • We will continue to use the Market Blog and facebook to promote weekly features during market months. • Links www.mordenchamber.com • Blog • Facebook • Vendors wanting to be included in facebook promotions, contact Megan Dias.

  6. ATTRACT CUSTOMERS • Paper Promotions are: Posters, flyers and special events posters. • Vendors can provide logos and/or name for promotion on special events. To be included logo must be emailed or brought to chamber office no later than June 23, 2011. • Special events may be advertised through newspaper and radio • We are considering weekly radio reminders the afternoon of the market.

  7. ATTRACT CUSTOMERS • Core-plast Signs: We are lobbying the Town of Morden for permission to place signs throughout Morden on Market Day. • Bench Signs: Locations are, 8th & Stephen, Access Event Centre.

  8. DESTINATION MARKET • We are looking for a licensed vendor who will supply ready-to-eat food. Preferably something made locally that fits with the theme of Healthy. • YFC will be providing a barbecue some market days throughout the summer.

  9. DESTINATION MARKET • The Farmer’s Market will continue to have a host tent. The host tent will be the same as 2010. • Morden Farmers Market will be selling market bags. Vendors will be given the option to have some bags available to sell at their canopy.

  10. DIVERSIFY MARKET • We are working with a variety of local people to bring buskers, showcase crafters, local attractions and other entertainment that will bring more people to Morden’s Downtown to enjoy the Farmer’s Market. • We have planned two special events: • Family Day July 14, 2011 • Customer Appreciation September 15, 2011

  11. MARKET INTEGRITY • Manitoba Public Health regulations govern the production of food for the safety of consumers. Vendors are expected to comply with all regulations and stay informed of current legislation. • Vendors thought to be in non-compliance will be spoken to privately by market manager (Pamela Hiebert). A three-strike policy is being considered and if enforced no refunds will be given.

  13. 2011 SEASON • 2010 Vendors have first option on their last years location. • Open spots are available first come first serve basis. • Spot will be reserved upon payment

  14. CREATING A FINANCIALLY STABLE FARMER’S MARKET • 2011 Price structure is based on current market fees across Manitoba.

  15. CREATING A FINANCIALLY STABLE FARMER’S MARKET • Regular Vendor Price • $100 for all 15 markets • Regular vendors must be at the market by 3:00 in order to be put in line for their spot of choice

  16. CREATING A FINANCIALLY STABLE FARMER’S MARKET • Occasional Vendors • $25 for each week, up to 5 times • Occasional Vendors will be put in spots on a first come first serve basis

  17. Chamber Membership • Benefit of 2011 vendor fee is Chamber Membership. • Some highlights of membership: Health Benefits, Gas Discounts, Telephone/Cell Discounts, AAA alarm system • Local information updates, directory listing, FREE workshops… • Membership Packets will be given with each vendor confirmation/payment.

  18. REGISTRATION • The committee will be available at the close of the meeting to purchase your preferred spot. • To reserve your spot today you must pay for your spot today.
