  1. 308th VFS Mission Briefing 25 January 2009 1800 PST

  2. Mission Background The DPRK initially had the capability to capture the whole of South Korea, then the Allies initiated a ground invasion with the goal of pushing the North out of Southern territory. Currently, our ground forces have made swift advances in taking back some of the South. A lot more needs to be done, but we are well on the way.

  3. Mission Objective Though a high cost was paid getting the information, Intel has learned that the North obtained several TU-160's from Russia and have landed at the recently captured Osan Air Base. They are planning on loading up with Nuclear weapons and heading for Kadena to remove the Allies air threat. The 308th has been tasked with striking Osan before they take off.

  9. Mission plan • Flight leads will brief game plans prior to stepping to the jets • If the TU-160s have taken off, it will be our responsibility to hit the airbase and then down the bombers • Do NOT allow the bombers to reach the Japanese coast and strike Kadena!
