  2. Digital Voice Communication • Digital Voice Communication allows users to contact each other through cell phones and VoIPs (Voice over IP) digitally, without the use of traditional telephones. • This allows users to conveniently communicate, on the go, in the office, or meeting place. • This presentation will provide information about the advantages of Digital Voice Communication over traditional means of communication.

  3. 4 Countries with the Most Cell Phone Users *All data taken from 2007 study

  4. Voice over IP • Voice over IP (VoIP) allows you to make telephone calls using a computer network, over a data network like the Internet. • VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the internet then converts it back at the other end so you can speak to anyone with a regular phone number.

  5. A Look at VoIP

  6. Personal Advantages • Using Digital Voice Communication in your personal life has many advantages over your traditional phone services. • Depending primarily on location, there tends to be more service providers for digital communication than telephone service providers. Giving you a chance to choose the provider that best fits your needs. • Cell phone coverage is more widespread than telephone, which means less long distance calls.

  7. Personal Advantages (continued) • Cell phones are mobile devices, having them in your possession at all times could allow you to make and receive urgent calls, or even save your life. • VoIPs typically tend to be less expensive then public telephone service, and offers features such as unlimited voice mail, three-way calling, and call forwarding.

  8. Business Advantages • Digital Voice can increase communication and collaboration within the business, which leads to higher productivity. • VoIPs and Cell Phones allow easy communication between international businesses, whether it be urgent calls, or meetings via digital voice.

  9. Business Advantages (continued) • VoIPs provide employees with several features that are now available on standard telephones. Such as allowing you to check your voicemail on your own personal computer.
