Background Information • Last year students and parents expressed their concerns that our Casual Dress Policy was not fair for students who followed the dress code • At the beginning of this year Administration and teachers had a “Passion Meeting” to discuss a new Casual Dress policy • After several modifications this was presented to ASB and the School Advisory Council (Consist of Parents, Teachers, Students and Staff representatives from AVCHS) for feedback • The following slides outline the new policy…

  3. Goals for Dress Code Policy • To create an equitable casual dress system that hold students individually accountable • To promote school spirit by using school paraphernalia on the 2nd and 4th Friday’s of the month

Ánimo Venice Charter High School At this time ---ALL STUDENT MUST SIGN THEIR NAME ON THE ROSTER AND CARD WITH A PEN • Casual Dress Infraction Tracker • Dress Code: • Navy Blue polo shirt • Shirts tucked in • Only Grey/Navy Blue/Black/College sweaters or jackets • All AVCHS Dress Code policiesaccording to handbook • Students: • Casual Dress Cards must be on your possession at all times. • One violation is equal to a lose of casual dress privileges for the next casual dress Friday. • Failure to have this card or to show this card upon request will result in a loss of casual dress for the quarter. • Students who are defiant and/or are repeat offenders will receive disciplinary action up to parent shadow and/or suspension. • On casual dress Friday, you must have your casual dress card. If not, you will lose your incentive for 20 weeks. • You will receive your casual dress card from your Advisory teacher. You must sign to prove you received your card. • If you lose your casual dress card you will lose casual dress for the quarter. READ Casual Dress CARD Guidelines-Popcorn Reading • 1st – 3rd Friday of every month will be casual dress day Casual Dress Day Cards • In order to earn Casual Dress privileges, a student must not have a whole punch in their Casual Dress Card.  The following are the guidelines for Casual Dress privileges.  • Casual Dress Cards must be on your possession at all times. •  One violation is equal to a loss of casual dress privileges for the next casual dress Friday.  •  Failure to have this card or to show this card upon request will result in a loss of casual dress for the quarter. •  Students who are defiant and/or are repeat offenders will receive disciplinary action up to parent shadow. •  On casual dress Friday, you must have your casual dress card.  If not, you will lose your incentive for 20 weeks. •  You will receive your casual dress card from your Advisory teacher.  You must sign to prove you received your card. •  If you lose your casual dress card you will lose casual dress for the quarter.  • New casual dress cards can be purchased at each quarter for $5.00

Checking For Understanding- With your fingers (1,2,3,4) show the correct number/answers for the following questions: When are casual dress days? • 1st and 2nd Friday of every month • 1st and 3rd Friday of every month • 2nd and 3rd Friday of the month • 2nd and 4th Friday of the month When are spirit shirt days? • 1st and 2nd Friday of every month • 1st and 3rd Friday of every month • 2nd and 3rd Friday of the month • 2nd and 4th Friday of the month When should you have your casual dress card with you? • Monday and Wednesday • Fridays • Tuesday and Thursday • Every Day

Spirit Days • 2ndand 4th Friday of Every Month students will be able to wear a “Spirit Shirt/Sweaters” with their khaki's or Jeans… Purpose: To promote school spirit Students will be able to wear AVCHS Attire which includes: • Sports Shirts/Jerseys • Spirit Shirts • Advisory Shirts • Club/Organization Shirts • All Shirts must be Grey/white and include AVCHS, Animo Venice or our school Logo
