  5. How do I know what a credible site is? • Ask yourself these questions… • Who? • What? • Why? • When? • How?

  6. Who is the author? Is the Author identified? Is the Author credible?

  7. Who is the author? Does the author have a bias? What else has the author written?

  8. What is the intention of the website? What can you learn from the URL? What is the purpose of the Website? • commercial • organization • education • government • network • information • biz (business) • Inform • Persuade • Sell • Explain • Promote

  9. Why is the site on the internet? Does the Site Contain Advertising? If So, Does the advertising present a conflict? Is the information biased? Is there only one perspective?

  10. When was the site created or last updated? Is the Date of Creation Relevant? Is the information current?

  11. How easy is it to navigate the site? Are there Broken Links? Endless Loops? Spelling Mistakes? Obvious Errors?

  12. Can the information be verified elsewhere? Triangulate the information (use three independent sources).
