  1. Thermoforming is the molding process where sheets of pre-extruded rigid plastics are horizontally heated and sucked down into hollow one-piece tools. The tooling cost here is normally low and the piece prices vary thermoforming processes can make use of used thermoforming machines for plastic packaging. At Plastiwin, you can find different types of used thermoforming machines. on the machinery. All

  2. Vacuum forming It is formed between the mold cavity and the thermoplastic sheets. Normally during this process, the plastic material is heated until it becomes pliable and it is placed over a mold drawn in by a vacuum until it takes its desired shape.

  3. Pressure forming The process which is similar to vacuum forming except with the addition of pressure and it is applied on the back side of the sheet to help force mold it. The key advantages of pressure forming are cost- effective, quicker tooling and its ability to from very large parts. It is perfect for complex shapes, pieces with vents or louvers and projects with tighter tolerances. This often used for medical, office and vented equipment, control pads, scientific instruments, control panels and multi-part assemblies.

  4. Mechanical forming This process involved shaping a preheated thermoplastic sheet by means of a direct mechanical force. Mechanical forming also provides precise dimensional tolerance and surface detailing.

  5. Twin sheet forming The process which involves vacuum and pressure forming and is technically a challenging process which uses two plastic sheets to make hollow or double-walled 3D parts. Twin sheet forming is a good choice for the plastic part because it has a lower tooling cost. It also allows for an enclosed cavity and has molded-in attachments and other features.

  6. Billow forming A process of thermoforming sheet plastic where the heated sheet is clamped over a billow chamber and its air pressure is increased causing the sheet to billow upward against a descending male mold. Billow forming is related to plug assists because they are designed to yield more uniform wall thicknesses in the finished part.
