  2. What is the common and scientific name of the animal? The common name for this species is the black lemur. Eulemur macacois this is the lemurs scientific name.

  3. Where does it live and what is its natural habitat? Black lemurs natural habitat is the tropical rainforest. The black lemurs have been reported in regenerated forest, tree farms, and croplands with trees.   4. What does it eat? What is it’s role in the ecosystem? Black lemurs are omnivores which means they eat plants and animals. Some of the plants they eat are ripe fruit, leaves, flowers. Also the animals they eat are fishes, amphibians, birds, mammals, and reptiles. The animals they eat are very small. Their job in the ecosystem is to keep there babies safe.   5. Describe the features of the black lemur Black lemur males fur is solid black. Females have brown body and black and white fur on their heads. Their body length is 41cm.   6. Describe causes of endangerment The lemurs are endanger because of deforestation. Deforestation means they are clearing all the trees. They are also hunted and traded. Trading means they are going to the zoo. They have also slash-and-burn.   7. Way to stop deforestation The way to stop deforestation is to have a law called no more deforestation which is to make them stop cutting down the rainforest so the black lemurs can live.
