  5. Self Survey How often have you reviewed your crew’s LPGs? • Every term or more • Once a semester • Once a year or less • Not since I wrote it!

  6. How often do you review your crew’s LPGs with your student workers? • Never formally • On Triad Day (first day of the semester in the fall) • On Triad Day and MLK Day (first day of the semester in the spring) • Once a term or more

  7. How often do you reference your LPGs in your daily working life? • Daily • Weekly • A few times during a semester • A few times a year • Rarely, if ever

  8. How familiar do you believe your students are with your crew’s LPGs? • They practically have them memorized. • They might recognize them. • They don’t know them at all. • I am unsure.

  9. WPO Expectations • Supervisors should review their LPGs once a semester. • Formal review of LPGs with the student crew on both Triad and MLK Days. • Supervisors should informally reference LPGs as often as possible. • Students should be familiar with LPGs prior to the evaluation process. • Treat your crew’s LPG as a learning contract.

  10. Learning Contract • What you can agree to teach via sharing of knowledge and creation of opportunities • What students can agree to learning through being present and active participants. • Similar to an academic syllabus.

  11. Supervisors should review their LPGs once a semester. • Learning contract • what you can commit to help students learn • Review should: • Check for relevancy • Areas of improvement • Small edits • Not take more than 5 minutes! What can you commit to?

  12. Formal review of LPGs with student crew on both Triad & MLK Days. • The time is already reserved • Explain the crew’s LPGs • Set expectations for the semester • Set goals • Agree to the learning contract What can you do this MLK Day to familiarize your crew with your LPG?

  13. Supervisors should reference LPGs as often as possible. • When a situation arises • Appropriate to the work at hand • Relevant to a learning experience • When you have time to reference Identify opportunities for your crew currently and for the coming semester.

  14. Students should be familiar with LPGs prior to evaluation process. • End of semester evals should not be a first exposure for students. • Triad & MLK Days • References throughout the semester • Crew Trainings on specific LPGs • Posted in and around crew space Brainstorm the best way for your crew to become familiar with your Goals.

  15. Feeling the Need to Edit Your LPGS? • Can be done at any time • Edits can range from correction of typos to complete overhauls • Email edits to Ellen (egraves@warren-wilson.edu) • Follow up with a conversation
