Development of diamond production The project aims at establishment of diamond production of 59 thousand carats per year capacity, implementing automated equipment and effective methods to process natural raw diamonds and another precious stones. Years of reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 1999-2005. Presently the four “closed cycle” shops are being put into operation (complete technological chain of diamond processing) with total capacity of 24,5 thousand carats per year. 40% of total capacity have been mastered. The jewelry shop has been put into operation. Number of new jobs – 310 Financing: FDCC – 10.5 million roubles

Pilot projects of Innovation Technology Center The goal of the project –search for and selection of the attractive projects with further development and production of the completely functional demo samples of the products being the subjects of pre-selected projects. Production of demo samples is to be provided with financial inflows from different financial structures by the effort of temporary work teams comprised from the specialists of the nuclear weapon complex of Sarov city. Financing: NCI- $K200 FDCC- $K230

  8. Production of informational-controlling systems and their components for oil and gas industry The founder of the project, the Joint Stock Company “NPD VNIIEF-Volgogas” designs, manufactures and delivers the equipment for GAZPROM. The activities are fulfilled within the long-term program (1997-2002). The company provides the full cycle of services, starting from survey of the industrial objects, to shipment, assembly and maintenance of the equipment. The market of the control systems, gauges and complexes rates over 180 million rubles per year. Number of new jobs – 46 Financing: Total project cost – 60 The company equity – 7 FDCC – 22 NCI assets – 1 million USD

  9. Production of SF6 equipment Establishment of the company producing electrical hardware with SF6 insulation. The products include: autonomous hydro-drive, tank suitcase for 10 kV, 110… 550 kV, mobile gas-technological complex. Mobile gas-technological complexes are assigned for filling and pumping out of SF6 gas or another neutral gas from isolated high-voltage stations with SF6 insulation at electrical sub-stations in the course of putting into operation, adjustment and repair. The project implies production of vessels to store neutral gases. Mass implementation of SF6 equipment results in drastic decrease of expenses associated with construction of substations and general maintenance expenses, including technical service and planned repair of suitcase, servicing of compressor sub-stations etc. Number of new jobs-420 Financing. FDCC-30 million roubles

  11. Open Computing Center The goal of the project is to produce software and to develop the numerical simulation methods against the order of the domestic and foreign companies. Basically OCC develops applied numerical codes for different industry branches. Those include calculation of geo-mechanical loads associated with subsidence of the sea bottom and calculation of strength of different materials at the atomic and molecular levels. OCC employees will also provide bio-molecular simulation, which can be applied in development of new pharmaceuticals and creation of functional brain map. Number of new jobs – 300 Financing - $ 5 million of NCI assets.

  12. Mobile gas technologicalcomplexes to maintain high-voltage hardware with SF6 insulation Project description. The goal of the project is to set up a small series production of the mobile gas-technological complexes to maintain high-voltage equipment with SF6 insulation. Number of new jobs – 20 Financing - $ 136 000, including FDCC assets - $ 36 000 NCI assets - $ 100 000

  13. Bi-metal conductors The project is aimed at establishment of the production line to manufacture bi-metal products by explosive technology. The technology for metal welding developed by RFNC-VNIIEF allows to produce bio-metal and multi-layered materials implemented in different branches of industry. The production capacity of the production line being established is 20 000 conductors per year. Products will be manufactured against order. Should the order grow the production capacity can be increased up to 40 000 conductors per year without serious capital investments. Number of new jobs – 18 Financing – 2 431 800 roubles

  14. Set up of the production line to manufacture small series of high voltage drivers The goal of the project is to implement production of small series of high voltage generators for the ignition systems of ZMZ406 chassis manufactured at Zavolshsky plant (Zavolzhye, Nizhny Novgorod region). No analogs are available in the world as to the combination of the distinguishing features. The RF patent is available (the owner is “Kontur” ltd..). Number of new jobs – 90 Financing. Total project cost – 0,9 million roubles FDCC – 0,9 million roubles

  15. Production of neutron-protectivelayers for transportation and storage containers. Fissile materials extracted from the nuclear munitions being dismantled are stored and transported is special containers, the design documents for which had been developed in VNIIEF. One of the basic elements of the container is neutron-protective layer (insert) made of boron and caplene. The technology used for production of boron-caplene inserts by pressing of the initial ingot and further mechanical processing had been mastered at VNIIEF pilot plant. Number of work places reserved – 40. Financing: FDCC-1.5 million roubles

  16. Establishment of production of the isotope-depleted zinc The project aims at expansion of the available in VNIIEF production of isotope-depleted zinc for the needs of atomic power engineering. Russia has the priority in development and implementation of centrifugal technology of isotope separation, being presently the most cheap and effective one from the economical standpoint. Isotope of zinc oxide is presently used in atomic power engineering, microelectronics, medicine, laser technology, etc. Number of new jobs – 250 Financing: FDCC – 7,5 million roubles

  17. Upgrading of the technologicalline producing solid-body microelectronics OCTM has developed and implemented a small-series production of microchips for automobile electronics AG-1 “A microchip for turn indicator of the car with a trailer”. The microchip is being produced since 1996 and is delivered to “Pnoitron” Company (Germany). The lot of microchips being delivered is 10-11 thousands per month, whereas the request is 25 thousand items per month. Upgraded efficiency requires procurement of the additional equipment. Number of new jobs – 35 Financing: FDCC – 1,275 million roubles

  18. Development and implementation of the line producing the equipment ensuring safe operation of the city transport The project aims at establishment of conversion production at “Avangard” plant assigned for servicing the city transport and underground transport of Moscow and another big cities. The equipment includes 5 devices combined into the electrical set: voltage transducer for metro car, sub-exciter for metro generator, control unit for compressor motor, etc. Financing: Total project cost – 2,1 million roubles FDCC – 1,6 million roubles Company equity – 0.5 million roubles

  19. Production of the expendable kitchenwareby the OJS Company “Avangard – Conversia” Project description. The expendable kitchenware is produced at the premises of electro - mechanical plant “Avangard”. Personnel of the company are employees of this plant. Basic sales market – Moscow.   21. Development of titanium productionat the Center for Thermal Metal Processing “Titan” The center for Thermal Metal Processing “Titan” is the export-oriented production of spare parts made of titanium and titanium alloys. Presently over 120 modifications of the products meeting international quality standards are being produced: decorative and power units for automotive and aviation industry, aviation bolts of 7 to 22 mm diameter, medical prosthetic appliances, accessories. Presently the Center produces titanium parts for 300 thousand USD per year and has a capability to increase its output up to 1 million USD annually. Further production growth up to 5-10 millions per year is associated with financial inflows rating between 2 and 3 millions USD, requested, basically, for procurement of hardware. This could have improved the present status of the Center and reinforce its positions at the international level, which, in its turn, will provide orders from big customers. Number of new jobs – 150 Financing. FDCC – 47, 781 mln roubles

  22. Production of the light-motor and super-light planes Project description. The project implies series production of the light-motor and super-light planes: • SLA – delta-wing aircraft “Cruise” • LA– four-seater airplane KAI-40 • LA – super-light two-seater helicopter “Mosquito” M80 All the models are maneuverable, easily operated, comfortable, stable in turbulent flows and can service a wide circle of users (excursions, transportation, patrolling, agriculture, training, etc) Number of new jobs – 16 Financing. FDCC – 4,040 million roubles

  23. Cellular communication The project aims at relieving the problem of telephonic communications in the city and provision of state, municipal and emergency authorities with mobile communication means. The company offers its services to private users also. The present number of users in 300-400 meanwhile the technical capability of the network is up to 1500 users. Number of new jobs – 10 Financing. FDCC – 4,2 million roubles

  24. International Transportations Project description. The company “AST” was founded in 1999 to provide long-range transportation of cargo by trucks. Presently the company operates at the Russian territory. Thanks to its successful business the company is now searching for new perspective markets in CIS countries and the Western Europe and increases the scope of transportation services up to 9000 thousand roubles per year. Competitiveness is provided by the decreased cost of the services and the quality of work. Number of new jobs – 17 Financing. Total project cost – 15,518 million rubles FDCC – 15,17 million roubles.

  25. High – tech timber processing Project description. Big-series production of wide assortment of timber goods implementing brand-new timber-processing technologies. Number of new jobs – 27 Financing: FDCC – 3.5 million roubles

  26. Laparoscopy center The project proposed for investment is creation in Sarov of laparoscopy center - a complex, providing minimum surgical intervention during operation ( bloodless surgery). The project falls into humanitarian UNO concepts and EU program “Province of equal capabilities”. The implemented project will yield world-standard surgery in Sarov Medical Department. The other features of the implemented project: - Substantial upgrading of medical services to the city population; - Increased response of medical assistance; - Increased effectiveness of intensive therapy and urgent medicine; - Optimized treatment processes; - Improved substantiation of diagnostics. Establishment of the companyto produce concrete and grout The project is aimed at procurement and assembly of the equipment assigned for production of concrete and grout developed at N1126 plant of the RF Ministry of Defence and Mechanical Plant 345 of the RF Ministry of Defence. The equipment successfully compete with the foreign analogs as to the quality, effectiveness and high technologic efficiency. The production is environmentally friendly. Putting of the equipment into operation will do away with deficiency of constructional materials in the region. Number of new jobs – 6 Financing: Total project cast – 15 million roubles FDCC – 6 million roubles JSC “IVK” – 2 million roubles

  29. Development of production forembottling the church wine The production was established under the auspices of the Russian Orthodox Church and is carried out by the Company “Imperial-S” Ltd. Embottling of church wine started on 15 March 2000. The wine is assigned basically for the church traditional services and festivals. The high quality and the acceptable price make the wine attractive at the Russian market. The basic customer for the product is the Russian Orthodox Church. The wine is also marketed in the neighboring regions. Number of new jobs – 30 Financing. Total project cost – 14,35 million roubles FDCC-14,35 million roubles

  30. Rescue vehicle of Sarov Department for EmergencySituations The Rescue vehicle is assigned for rapid transportation of rescue teams and their equipment to emergency locations. The vehicle is equipped with all the necessary to provide medical assistance, to localize fire, to transmit data relevant to the accident and to inform the population on the location of the accident and measures, which should be undertaken to avoid risks. The vehicle had been designed and manufactured by RFNC-VNIIEF.

ENCI WEB- site of the Russian Nuclear Cities Project ENCIWeb intends to seize the opportunity offered by new Information Society Technologies to design and implement a web‑based technology information and dissemination platform, that can be used by Russian Nuclear Cities as well as by European industry representatives, in order to: a) Reciprocally learn about respective technology offer and needs; b) Efficiently and securely negotiate Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) deals; c) Provide two‑ways communication support: from Nuclear Cities to European Industry for disseminating technological projects and from European Industry to Nuclear Cities, for consulting on commercial exploitation and business planning issues.
