  2. Online Database • March-April: Schools will be asked to complete the self-assessing database • Deadline for completion: April 29, 2011 • September 2011: Schools will be asked to complete the database for the second time. Instructions will be sent in August.

  3. Getting Started • http://webapp.browardschools.com/bcps_accreditation/default.aspx • Username: broward • Password: school number • Schools with beginning numbers that start with a zero will enter their password without the zero’s. Example: 0237 will be entered as 237.

  7. 4 Sections • Indicator Rubric: (Mandatory) • Discussion Questions: (SIP) • Short Response: (Mandatory) • Final Discussion Questions: (SIP) • *SIP: The database will be used for the accreditation process but will also help your staff prepare for your next SIP.*

  8. Standards and Rankings • Standards will be ranked- Highly Functional- Operational- Emerging- Not Evident • Emerging and Operational rankings should include a short answer on how you will improve

  9. Be Honest • This is not a report card for your school • Reports will be generalized to level, area and district • Your school will not go on a list • Could take away from the purpose of this process

  10. Use of Data • Data will be broken up into 3 reports- Levels- Areas- District • Low ranking standards will be highlighted and an action plan will be put in place for improvement • The second self-assessment will provide us with evidence on what we have improved on

  11. Notes • Substitute school for the words district in standard • This powerpoint shows the mandatory fields needed for the accreditation process. Refer to slide 7. • Purpose is to connect schools to the accreditation process and prep them for the upcoming District Accreditation visit • Visitation Date for SACS CASI is: October 23-26, 2011

  12. School Visits • 20-25 Schools will be visited: October 25, 2011 • Schools will know 30 days in advance • We will provide talking points and a Q & A prior to the visit • Marketing for the visit will roll-out April 2011 • Schools will receive posters and other items to place around your school
