  2. Prov 28:13, “He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.”

  3. DoxologyPraise God, from whom all blessings flow;Praise Him, all creatures here below;Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.—Amen.

  4. Prov 3:5,“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

  5. The Book of ProverbsChapter 11Blessings vs. Divine discipline by association related to speech in business.Pt. 1

  6. OutlineBusiness dealings related to: Vs. 1-8, Integrity.Vs. 9-14, Speech. Vs. 15-23, Wisdom. Vs. 24-26, Giving. Vs. 27-32, Motivation.

  7. Prov 11:9

  8. Prov 11:9“Godless man” CHANEPH, חָנֵף, “Profane, filthy, impious, impure, hypocritical or godless.”

  9. This person is hypocritical when he professes godliness but acts in godless or sinful ways. We call this “two faced.”

  10. Job 8:13,“So are the paths of all who forget God; and the hope of the godless will perish.”

  11. Hypocrites prove destructive to their neighbors by the use of sins of the tongue.

  12. “Destroys” - SHACHATH, שָׁחַתThe hypocrite will cause his neighbors to be destroyed, ruined, ravaged, corrupted, or to decay.

  13. In Prov 6:32, the one living inside of Satan’s cosmic system corrupts his own soul, but here the damage goes further, corrupting his “neighbors”, REA, רֵעַ, “kinsman, fellow countryman, or friend.”

  14. This also includes business and political leaders. If they are “slick talking” leaders the righteous will see right through them.

  15. The Contrast!

  16. The Contrast! The “righteous” who have God’s Word and apply it will not be overtaken by the hypocritical believer and their sinful ways.

  17. Our only defense against sin and Satan’s cosmic system is to have doctrine on the right lobe of our souls.

  18. Any success the hypocritical believer has will only be temporary.Cf. Prov 12:6, 13; 14:3.

  19. Prov 12:6,“The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright will deliver them.”

  20. Prov 12:13,“An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous will escape from trouble.”

  21. Prov 14:3,“In the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his back, but the lips of the wise will protect them.”

  22. Prov 11:10

  23. Prov 11:10Here the impact or consequences escalate from the individual one on one relationship to the entire community.Cf. Prov 28:12; 29:2.

  24. Prov 29:2,“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groan.”

  25. “Rejoices” - ALATS, עָלַץ, “Will rejoice or exult.” A poetic comparison with CHALATS – delivered and ALATS – rejoicing.

  26. When you are delivered from evil because of God’s Word in your soul you will also rejoice.

  27. The context of ALATS is victory that comes as a result of dependence upon God, whose end result always gives God’s people reason to rejoice.

  28. Prov 28:12,“When the righteous triumph (ALATS), there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.”

  29. Double Emphasis!

  30. Double Emphasis! The death of an evil man who has brought ruin to a city causes the righteous to rejoice as Divine justice prevailed and delivered them from evil.

  31. It gives great detail to Prov 10:28, “The hope of the righteous is gladness, but the expectation of the wicked perishes.”

  32. Prov 29:2, “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groan.”

  33. This double positive speaks to the outward expression of the soul of the righteous believer when they have good leaders or heads of business and when evil ones die.
