  9. Review Pre-Requisite Requirements 55 credits in either healthcare or IT-specific coursework as approved by the program Science – 10 credits (one lab course and one life science) English Composition I – 5 credits College level math – 5 credits – Statistics Technical Writing/Research Writing – 5 credits Social Science – 5 credits (either social science or humanities must be a communication course) Humanities – 5 credits (either social science or humanities must be a communication course)

Current Student Population • Target student audience • Already have associate of applied science (AAS) in healthcare or IT-related fields • Does this limit advancement options? • BAS considered a 2+ 2 degree • Allows those with AAS to build on prior education and applied training • However………

  11. Current Student Population BC is not limited to accepting only AAS graduates Students who have met the 90 credits of pre-requisite coursework are eligible to apply

  12. Transfer Degree Option • Nearly all community colleges have this option • Designed to ease the transition to four-year colleges and universities • Creation of specialized transfer degree option can create pathway for students • Satisfies the pre-requisites for the Healthcare IT BAS program

  13. Articulation in Progress • Clark College • Major Related Programs (MRP) degrees • Modified to prepare students for direct transfer to a given major

Getting Started • Refer to pre-requisites for entry into the BAS program at Bellevue College • Identify applicable transferable courses • Submit this information to Dr. Charney for review • May be asked to provide course outlines, objectives and syllabi • Meet with BAS program faculty and staff to finalize course equivalency guide (can be done via web conferencing)
