  2. Definition • Its a form of psychotherapy which was developed Sigmund Freud, which helps patients become aware of their long, repressed unconscious feelings

  3. TherapistInterpretation • They listen to patients talking, looking for clues for the possible reasons however the patient may resist the interpretation.

  4. Repression and Unconscious Mind • Individuals are not aware of the cause of their behaviour, emotions or health. Some of these are in the unconscious level or in the conflicts from childhood. Therapist trace the unconscious and help to deal with it.

  5. Free Association • The patients talks about what they are thinking even if it isn’t relevant. Freud believed that this way the unconscious factor s are uncovered bringing the unconscious to conscious. What do you see?

  6. Dream analysis • When the therapist associates your dreams to symbols. These symbols are what the unconscious desires

  7. Ink Blots • Therapist shows the patients random images of blots that actually do not make an image. However, the patients mind reveals a picture, it changes from person to person.
