  2. How did we fare in surveillance? • Goal of surveillance • We reduced transmission of Influenza A(H1N1) • We identified source of diarrhea outbreak thus reduced morbidity

In PIDSR? • By end of 2010, 80% of ESUs are functional • Hospitals shall be reporting to respective municipality/cities • Reporting of cases by electronic system • Analysis of data shall be done weekly • Written documents shall be done as proof of data analysis and as reference material • 21 (50%) of ESUs are partially functional • 12 (71%) of govt hospitals are regularly reporting • 13 (62%) of pvt hospitals are regularly reporting • 4 (20%) of ESUs are sending reports by email • 15 (60%) of hospitals are sending reports by email • Not yet done • Not yet done

In VPD surveillance? • Measles surveillance • AFP surveillance • Neonatal tetanus • Exceeded the target • 15% Specimen collection • Did not reach the target • 12% Specimen collection • 3 cases found • Sensitive surveillance system • CPAB is more than 80% in Lucena City, facility based delivery is less than 70%

Future Plans (by the RESU) • Training on Data Analysis and Scientific writing • Monitoring of Silent DRUs/ESUs • Semi annual Meeting with the MHO/CHO/HO and ESUs • Semi annual Consultative Meeting with Hospital Directors/DSC • Quarterly Meeting with DSO/EPISO/EPI coordinators • Meeting with Pediatric Societies/Local Medical Societies • Orientation for the Regulation Division
