  2. Aims: • To share recent developments in how we teach Numeracy at Inshes Primary. • To experience some of the activities the children do to develop their Numeracy skills. • To explore some of the new resources being used in classes to teach Numeracy. • To have an opportunity to ask questions.

  3. Numeracy in the past… • Written methods (one way) • Pages of sums • Confused children with process • Lack of number sense • Persistent errors… see me! • Dislike of the subject • Reliant on written strategies as adults • Use of calculators - debate
