  2. Welcome & thanks to Past-President Akira Asakura 1. TCS moved from Allen Press, Inc. to Brill (The Netherlands). 2. Journal of Crustacean Biology is publishing six issues per year. 3. In JCB, the "article by article on line" publication started for rapid publication. 4. New membership categories and fees were decided. 5. Positions of Liaison Officers established and the officers appointed. 6. An Executive Director was established. 7. Amembership poll was conducted in 2010. 8. Seed money policy was decided: $2000 for a TCS meeting, up to $6000 for an ICC; and considered a loan.

JCB Editorial Report for volume 31 (2011) Volume 31 (2011), the purple volume • The new EM (Editorial Manager) system with Brill went live in September with our first submission - #1000, and we logged in # 1065 on 20 December Our Impact Factor went back up to 1.115; last year it was 0.974, in 2009 it was 1.109 The total number of pages published were 751, down from 803 in 2010, but up from 619 in 2009, and about par with the 764 in 2008 Rejection rate – around 35%

Treasurer and Executive Director Report 2011 TCS, at mid-year, changes publishers from Allen Press to Brill TCS appoints Mary Belk as Executive Director to focus on membership and run the business office TCS appoints Brian Tsukimura as Treasurer to oversee the business office Moved several CD’s to Wells Fargo checking to ensure we met needs for the midyear meeting & JCB vol. 31(3) The Editor’s computer will be up-graded in 2012 TCS is in a recovery year as far as the stock market is concerned After reaching a low in 2010, our membership has started a slow increase

  7. Treasurer and Executive Director Report 2011 2011 income from BioOne ($45,228) surpassed the 2010 income ($38,566) JSTOR income ($5,042.91) also increased from 2010 levels. Investment accounts with Schwab have been put under Schwab management and are producing modest increases Our overall portfolio (Assets) is balanced but our Schwab funds are aggressive In 2011, TCS has a loss for the year, which can be explained by: increased cost of operations slight increase in JCB cost appointing an Executive Director loss created bythe Hawaii meeting. The Executive Director is collecting back due page charges and payments for page charges into 2012.

  12. New domain name: www.thecrustaceansociety.org This is the current view of the new TCS website as it appears using Firefox.

Navigation difficulties Many categories on landing page; these could be simplified (e.g. society business, meetings, publications, membership) Duplication and inconsistent or non-intuitive location of links or downloads (partly because of titles ‘resources’, ‘links’, ‘downloads’ which overlap greatly) Problem of upkeep, such as outdated news (e.g., a January 2011 deadline)

  17. Proposed website structure This level matches the labels on front page banner Re-locate some items Needs to be kept up-to-date! Suggest instalment of a web-related TCS Officer to coordinate and upkeep
