  1. Welcome to the UB tutorial on how to register for the GRE at the UB Testing Center To begin, go to www.gre.org

  2. Start Here To register for the GRE, you will first need to create an account.

  3. Returning users go here New users go here It is free to create an account.After you create an account, you will then be able to register for the exam

  4. Make sure you are aware of the ID requirements for the GRE!!! Here is where you will create your GRE account. It is very important to enter in the same name on your account that is on your identification.If your name on your account does not EXACTLY match your ID, you will NOT be allowed to take the GRE on the day of your exam.

  5. Here is your GRE Home account. To register for the GRE general exam, click on this link. From here, we will show you how to take the GRE at the University at Buffalo Test Center.

  6. Step 1: Select “United States of America” as the country. Step 2: Select “New York” as the state. Step 3: Select “Register for the computer-based GRE revised General Test” blue bar. Please read the information on this page to get the latest updates from GRE and how these changes will impact you.

  7. This is the screen that you will see after you select which exam you would like to take. To proceed, Click “Next” Test candidates must read ALL the information on this page before they proceed.

  8. Test Takers who require Special Accommodationswill need to schedule their exam directly with GRE.Please go to the website below for more information:www.ets.org/gre/general/register/disabilitiesor call: 1-800-967-1139

  9. Step 2 Click “Search” Step 1: Zip code: 14260 Step 3: Click here To schedule a GRE at UB To schedule an exam at UB’s testing center, 1-Type in the zip code: 142602-Click “Search” 3-Click on “Schedule an Exam.”

  10. GRE test dates are provided in 3 month blocks Select the month that you wish to take the GRE in and click on “Go”. Remember, it takes 10-15 business days (2-3 weeks) for your scores to be graded and sent to the schools you are applying to.

  11. The dates that are provided in bold and underlined font are the test dates for the GRE at UB. Click on the date to see the times offered on that date.

  12. Select the time that you wish to take the GRE at UB.

  13. Your personal information will come up next, but we cannot display that screen. Please confirm that your name and all contact information is correct. REMEMBER: It is very important to enter in the same name on your account that is on your identification. If your name on your account does not EXACTLY match your ID, you will NOT be allowed to take the GRE on the day of your exam.

  14. This is the page where you will enter your payment method. Test takers can pay with a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or JCB.

  15. Please complete the credit card information above to complete your registration process.Then, click “Next”The GRE fee will automatically be charged to your credit or debit card.

  16. Test Takers who wish to RESCHEDULE their exam.There will be a rescheduling fee of $50 to reschedule your exam.You must call the Prometric Registration Center at 1-443-751-4820 or 1-800-473-2255.
