  2. Current Status • Depository Statistics (19/10/2009) -No. of CDS accounts 1,786,619 -No. of distinct CDS accounts 1,411,112 -Total immobilized shares 31.13 %

  3. Risk Management • Implementation of Settlement Limits/Caps • To commence in January 11,2010. • Each Central Depository Agent will have a maximum allowable exposure beyond which they can not be allowed to buy more securities.

  4. Risk Management Cont’d b.) Guarantee Fund • Guarantee Fund contribution has been revised from a minimum initial contribution of US $ 19,933.55 to US $ 66,445.18 per Central Depository Agent.NB:1 US $= KSH 75.25

  5. Risk Management Cont’d • This will result to a total amount of US $ 2,990,033.22 held by the Guarantee Fund.

  6. Regional Integration a) Depository Services offered to Rwanda. CDSC Kenya is implementing the operational and system infrastructure to offer depository services to Rwanda Stock Exchange. b.) Single Central Depository. The initiatives of harmonizing the East African depositories under the East African Community Council into one are still underway.

  7. Other Sources of Revenue a.) Clearing and Settlement of debt securities. • Expected to commence in November 2009. b.) Registry Services. E.g.; • IPO processing • Distribution of corporate entitlements c.) Immobilization Process. The business process is being shifted to the Registrars. The Central Depository Agents will be
