CHARACTERISTICS OF EFFECTIVE COMMITTEES • Are built on the right foundation • Have goals and action plans for success • Are structured to accomplish goals and plans and support the ministry • Ensure adequate financial support • Understand authority and decision making in YL • Plan and hold effective meetings • Appreciate, celebrate, and say thanks • Evaluate themselves

  4. DETERMINING STRUCTURE FACTORS TO CONSIDER • Does an urban ministry have different committee structural needs? • Does the area have one high school or more than one high school? • What type of committee structure is needed in a small town? • Are there special program needs?
