  1. FlexNet • What is it ? • It’s a newer and better protocol, used extensively throughout Europe • Faster • Smarter

  2. FlexNet • Some commands have changed • a NODE is now called a DIGI • <N>odes are now <D>estinations • <R>outes are now <L>inks • <B>ye is now <Q>uit

  3. FlexNet • Some commands are thesame • <I>nfo is still <I>nfo • <H>elp is still <H>elp • <P>orts is still <P>orts

  4. FlexNet • Some new command exist • <F>ind • <A>kteull • <C>onference • <T>alk

  5. FlexNet • Connect Syntax • C {UserCallsign} V {1stDigiCallsign} • C {UserCallsign} V {1stDigiCallsign} {lastDigiCallsign}

  6. FlexNet • FlexNet automatically tests each link every 4 minutes. • All node parameters are adjusted based solely upon these measurements • Parameters automatically adjust for traffic load and propagation conditions.

  7. FlexNet • Routing is fully automatic • No SysOp intervention is needed or allowed • FlexNet will continuously select fastest path • FlexNet will automatically route around a intermittent , one way or failed links

  8. FlexNet • FlexNet is fair • All parameters and quality decisions are solely based upon automatic measurements • SysOp/NodeOp ego’s don’t enter into network routing !!

  9. FlexNet • FlexNet is not limited to 3 radio hops, as we were under the NEDA standard • In Europe, over 600 sites appear on the local D tables !

  10. FlexNet • Every link is tested • If a <D>estination shows in the D table, you can reach it • No more one way links, phantom nodes
