Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) Who is eligible? • EFAP is available for ALL employees and their spouse/partner and/or dependent children up to the age of 21, or 23 if full-time students and no age limit if dependent is disabled. What does it cost? • There is no costto employees. How are services accessed? • Call 1.800.663.1142 for direct access to 24/7 assistance throughout North America.

  20. Spiritual Care at SMGH St. Mary’s General Hospital offers spiritual care to patients, their families, and the staff who care for them. We offer spiritual support to people of all faiths, religions, spiritual practices and worldviews. Spiritual care is an important component of St. Mary’s commitment to provide integrated care for the whole person - body, mind, spirit.

  21. What can Spiritual Care Do for You? Wherever there are people in need, patients, family and staff members, the Chaplains have the unique honourand privilege of offering our services, such as: • Psychosocial or spiritual intervention • Attentive listening and express compassionate understanding • Support as you request it, and as appropriate. This care and support can be trusted to be confidential.

How to Reach Spiritual Care • During the day, call the extension of the Chaplain for your floor- either 1181 or 1182 • After 4:30pm, for a patient in crisis, call switchboard and ask them to page the on-call chaplain. Assess the situation and, if it is not a crisis, make the referral for SC day staff to follow up • Send a request through Meditechby choosing Pastoral Care. Even if you talk to us directly it is important for us to have a hard copy of the referral • Lastly, you can talk to us on the unit and tell us about your patient or about a recent experience you want to process.
