  2. Seminar objective to strengthen the common information base between Member States and the Secretariat on the TC programme, in order to facilitate a common understanding, informed discussion and decision-taking

  3. “Atoms for peace” • IAEA: to accelerate and enlarge the contribution of atomic energy to peace, health and prosperity • Related to the UN by special agreement • Reports to UNGA and Security Council

  4. From assistance to cooperation Technical assistance Small scale projects, short duration, focus on technology transfer and infrastructure development Technical cooperation Based on MS development priorities, focus on capacity strengthening using MS skills and infrastructure

  5. Member States • Full partners in the TC programme • Set policy framework • Guide TC activities • Define national and regional priorities • Fund the programme • Offer training opportunities and technical support to other MS
