  3. The Office of Chaplaincy The Office of Chaplaincy is the presence of the Catholic Church at Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic Secondary School. This means that our primary task is to serve the staff and students of the school community and to help foster and facilitate the active participation of all the faithful into the life and mission of the Church.  Cardinal Ambrozic Chaplaincy is rooted in the Catholic tradition of the Christian faith.  While Chaplaincy does provide a place of Christian community, students of all faiths and those with no faith background are welcome to be a part of, and contribute to, the chaplaincy program.  It also provides for the religious, spiritual, and pastoral formation of the school community, which includes both staff and students, as well as the extended community, including parents and school partners. 

  4. Outreach Team Working closely with staff and students the outreach team supports Sharelife sponsored and funded agencies when committing to social justice/ outreach initiatives. This is an affirmation of our school prayer of being “God’s Hands” in all we do. Also, keeping in mind all the groups and initiatives that His Eminence Cardinal Ambrozic supported as our diocesan Archbishop, we will sponsor and support all initiatives that promote healthy family living; including new immigrants that recently settled in our local community, as well as working with the poor and marginalized in our local community as well as the international community. This provides an opportunity for both staff members and students to actively engage in the faith life of the school community.

  5. Pastoral Planning Team The Pastoral Planning Team is a leadership body within the school whose role is to develop and implement a mission-focused pastoral plan for the school.  As servants to the wider community, the Pastoral Planning Team provides support to staff members with forums for consultation and reflection on the mission of the Church. Also, the Pastoral Planning Team develops pastoral plans, based on the insight of the community, to enable the faith community to continue to live out the mission of the Gospel and calls forth leaders from the school to implement and achieve the goals of the pastoral plan. This team meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 8a.m. in room 101.

  6. Bereavement Team This support group is for students who are coping with the death of a loved one, living with someone who is currently very ill, or involved or having witnessed a significant traumatic event or experience in their daily life. The group meets on a monthly basis (2nd Monday of every month) during the school day in the chapel, for 1 hour during the second half of period 1. This group will be led and facilitated by teachers who received bereavement training with the Bereaved Families of Ontario- Halton/Peel

  7. Liturgy Team The primary goal of the liturgy team is to come together to pray as a community in our school on a daily basis. We unite ourselves in prayer with the universal Church by praying for the intercession of all the Saints, and for our own personal intentions. All staff and students are invited to participate in the various liturgies celebrated throughout our school year. Also, we especially mark and commemorate together the many solemn and important liturgical dates such as; Remembrance Day, Advent and Lenten services, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Thanksgiving Mass, prayer assemblies, etc.

  8. Faith Formation The focus of our ongoing faith formation program will be to come together as a new Catholic school community to create venues for the self identification of both students and staff as ministry leaders. Together, we will foster this ministry leader formation both within the school community and with the larger Catholic community with national and international outreach. Finally, in order to nurture our active participation in the life and mission of the Church, we must create an environment that supports community leadership development. Through faith formation efforts we will work with a number of Catholic Agencies to help them be inclusive and supportive of our ministry efforts. These organizations may already be in place and will also include other agencies and groups.
