The Scholars Commons in Strozier Library • The Scholars Commons (Lower level, Strozier Library) serves faculty and grad students • Quiet study areas, collaborative spaces, research-oriented technology tools, and more • Rooms for special events and meetings, and a reading room for faculty and grads only • Librarians and staff dedicated to your teaching & research needs

Office of Digital Research and Scholarship works with faculty on: • Data management plans, required by many granting agencies • Digital research projects in the humanities and other disciplines • Depositing articles in DigiNole Commons, FSU’s institutional repository • Finding open-access publishing opportunities and hosting open access publications https://www.lib.fsu.edu/drs

Librarians are partners in teaching and research • Subject librarians, your first point of contact for library info, are assigned to each department to: • Acquire materials for teaching and research • Arrange library instruction for your classes • Create customized course research guides • Provide research and data consultations

Easy access to information is our goal • FSU has over 3 million volumes and offers hundreds of databases, over 80,000 e-journals, and millions of e-books. • FSU Libraries are members of the Association of Research Libraries, the top 124 research libraries in North America. • Full range of interlibrary loan services including RAPID-ILL

We Deliver! • Library Express Delivery (LED) delivers books to your department twice daily; we will scan and e-mail articles • Items received through interlibrary loan are also delivered • All faculty, TAs, GAs, and RAs are eligible for the service • Sign up at https://www.lib.fsu.edu/form/led-registration

  11. Our welcome gift to you • New Faculty Collection Grants: New tenure-track faculty may receive up to $1000 for library resources needed for their teaching and research • Requests must be submitted by January 2021

  12. Bradley Research Materials Grants • A competitive grant program through which the library acquires special materials needed by faculty for research • Open to all faculty • Look for an announcement in early fall

  13. How to connect with the Libraries • Get to know your subject librarian! • Attend special events at the libraries – interdisciplinary seminars, featured speakers and social events • Join the Faculty Senate Library Committee
