  6. Hitler’s Rise to Power • 1933- Popularity forces President to appoint Hitler Chancellor • 1933- Reichstag fire, blames Communists • 1934- President dies, Germany elects Hitler as replacement • 1934- Nazis remains most popular group in Germany, Hitler bans all other political parties
