COMMON MISTAKES • Lack of motivation and enthusiasm: students don’t care about the topic or the audience! • Reading not speaking (using written language in speech)! • Slides take over! • Too much text on slides (visually crowded slides) • Voice control (volume and speed!) • Not enough practise

  16. MORE TECHNICALITIES • Who? Groups of 5 students. • What? Topics related to BE1 syllabus. • When? After seminars, Tuesday 15.30, Friday 10.30, based on the schedule • Where? In seminar rooms. • How long? 10-15 minutes. • Why? Because you will learn /practise a useful business communication skill and you might be selected for the big competition! • Grading? Individual grades, grade is included in the final grade.

BEFORE DELIVERING THE PRESENTATION IN CLASS • choose a topic (BE1 syllabus) • brainstorm & research sources (web, library) • select & organiseideas • structure your presentation (slides) • practise language & delivery • fill in presentation forms (RB, p. 60, 61) • discuss your ppt slides with teacher (office hours) 8) rehearse, rehearse, rehearse

  18. ONCE AGAIN, AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE YOU DELIVER THE PRESENTATION • hand in the completed presentation form and draft slides (print them out, check spelling) PRACTISE ANDREHEARSE!!!
