  2. Journal Entry Write a response to the following topic. Make sure you indent and have a complete paragraph (four to six sentences minimum). *What place/places do you feel freest? Explain why. What images come to mind when you think of the word “freedom”?

  3. Literary Terms • Setting: The time and place of the story; words or phrases that describe the time and place of the story reveal its setting • Imagery: Language that appeals to the five senses; creates an image with words • Prose Poem: Short prose composition that uses rhyme, imagery, and other poetic devices to express an idea or emotion; the sentences appear in standard paragraph form.

  4. Read “Freedom to Breathe.” • Apply literary terms. • 3rd/Honors: Complete “Creative Writing” on page 1019. • Create an illustration of the work and an illustration of where you feel freest.
