  1. World Coins from West to East and their Unique Emblems

  2. Coins of the world feature unique symbols and emblems which represent the issuing nation’s identity. Let’s explore five coins and their wonderful national symbols today. • This copper half penny of Upper Canada was issued as token coinage by British Administration in 1850. The obverse side depicts St. George riding a horse, slaying a dragon, while the reverse side depicts the Coat of Arms of Upper Canada.

Here’s another interesting example of coins from around the world that were issued for the United States of America in 1918 to celebrate the centennial of the state of Illinois. • The obverse side of this Half Dollar silver coin features a bust of Abraham Lincoln and the famous legend “IN GOD WE TRUST”. The reverse side of these amazing world coins features the iconic Flying eagle holding a shield in its talon and a ribbon in its beak.

This historic example of valuable coins from around the world was issued by India 1950 and belongs to the Anna Series that prevailed before decimal coinage was introduced. • The obverse side of this 1 Pice bronze coin features the National Emblem which is adapted from Ashoka's Lion Capital at Sarnath. The reverse side depicts a running horse, denomination in English and Hindi, year of issue and diamond mint mark of Bombay Mint.

These relatively rare coins of the world were issued by the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in 1982. • The obverse side of this 50 Cents Copper-Nickel coin depicts the emblem of Sri Lanka showing a lion holding a sword, surrounded by petals of a Blue Lotus - the national flower, placed on a traditional grain vase with sheaves of rice that surrounds the border.

  6. This example of rare world coinswas issued for the State of Mongolia in 1993 exclusively to commemorate the Japanese royal wedding. The obverse side of this 1000 Tugrik Gold coin depicts the State emblem above the denomination. The reverse side of these wonderful world coins features the Royal couple facing each other along with the legend ROYAL WEDDING, PRINCESS MASAKO-PRINCE NARUHITO. • The emblem shows TumenNasan, around the sky; a combination of the Soyombo symbol and the wind horse at the centre; sun, moon and fire symbols from the Xiongnu; a Cintamani for the Buddhist Three Jewels, a mountain range, Wheel of Dharma and a khadag, a ceremonial scarf.
