  3. Sentence particle: ka • “Ka” is added to the end of a statement. • “Ka” turns a statement into a __________. Example: Gakusee desu ka? Hai soo desu. Iie, chigaimasu. question

  4. Sentence particle: yo • “Yo” makes a sentence more assertive and enthusiastic. • Do not overuse it when you answer questions. Ex. Sensee desu ka? Are (you) a teacher? Hai, soo desu yo. Yes, that’s right, I assure you!

  5. Sentence particle: ne • “Ne” makes a statement into a confirmation question. Ex. Kookoo desu ne? I think that (It) is high school, right?
