  6. Standard of Imitation • Matt 5:48Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. • 1 Peter 1:15but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16because it is written, “ You shall be holy, for I am holy.” • 1John3:10By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. • How to Imitate (mimetai⇒mimic) • Step 1: Admitting you can’t • Step 2: “By His spirit in the inner man” (Eph 3:16) • Step 3: “be filled up to all the fullness of God.” (Eph3:19)

  7. Ephesians 5:1,2 1Thereforebe imitators of God, as beloved children; 2and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

  8. Thread of LOVE in Ephesians Chapter 1 "In love having predestinated us. " Chapter 2 why did He show us mercy? "For his great love wherewith he loved US." Chapter 3 "to know the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge."  Therefore be imitators of God and walk in love

  9. Ephesians 5:1,2 1Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

  10. Ephesians 4:31,32 Opposite of Love 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, with every form of malice.  32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Love  Therefore be imitators of God and walk in love

  11. The depth of your love is indicated by how much you forgive. Do you hold grudges against people? It isn't their problem that's your problem. Jesus already died and paid the penalty for whatever they've done wrong. Your inability to forgive belies your love, If this is characteristic of your life you're not a Christian, because if you don't have love you're not God's child. Think about it.

  12. Luke 7:39Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of person this woman is who is touching Him, that she is a sinner.” 40And Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he replied, “Say it, Teacher.”  41“A moneylender had two debtors: one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.  42When they were unable to repay, he graciously forgave them both. So which of them will love him more?”  43 Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have judged correctly.” .”

  13. 44Turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.  45You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet.  46 You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with perfume. 47For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

  14. The Measure of love is the measure of our willingness to forgive

  15. Ephesians 5:1,2 be 1Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Doesn’t matter how bad, how continuous Christ has already felt the pain, and forgiven

  16. 2 Peter 1:3His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, Be Be Imitators of God Who you are in Christ Willingness

  17. Be Imitators of God John 3:16 16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
