  1. Reference Model Maintenance Process (RMMP) Project Update February 16, 2006

  2. What is the RMMP? • Evolves and modifies the FEA reference models • Ensures all Federal agencies have a mechanism by which to help shape the FEA reference models • Provides transparency into the reference model development process

  3. What is the value of the RMMP? • The RMMP is needed to sustain an open collaborative process that will provide OMB with • an agreed upon set of changes • the political “muscle” to implement those changes • The RMMP facilitates cross agency LoBs and provides a cornerstone for agency collaboration for improved mission results and service

  4. What is the current status? • Twenty (20) representatives from the following agencies are involved in the RMMP: • GSA • SSA • ED • Navy • DOD • EPA • DOE • IC • OMB • Team lead: Rick Murphy • Method of collaboration: CORE.gov • Types of submissions: • Substantial • Minimal

  5. What have we learned? • Consequences of Change • Impact on OMB analytical processes • Vendors • Identifying Trends • Large scale modifications to the Service Reference Model (SRM) as it relates to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) seem to be emerging • Requires further collaboration
