  3. How do I find the mean? • Temukan banyaknya item dalam himpunan data (Data Set) • Jumlahkan semua item dalam Data Set • Bagilah hasil penjumlahan data dengan banyaknya data Ketiga langkah di atas adalah algoritma pencarian nilai rata-rata (mean, average). Adakah cara lain?

  4. Cara Aljabar Caranya begini: x1 adalah nilai data pertama x2 adalah nilai data kedua dst sampai data ke-n

  5. Kita terapkan dalam persoalan. OK? “Fatima and Ali are in the same mathematics class. On the first five tests, Fatima received scores of 78, 77, 64, 86, and 70. Ali received scores of 90, 61, 79, 73, and 87”. How much higher was Ali’s average than Fatima’s average? (Ngerti, kan? Anda di tanya selisih nilai rata-rata Ali terhadap Fatima)

  6. Ok, kita pake cara aljabar, deh! Siap, ya? Nah, ternyata rata-rata Ali 3 poin lebih tinggi daripada nilai rata-rata Fatimah

  7. Cara aljabar ini ada dua manfaat 1. Anda bisa terapkan konsep aljabar ke masalah statistik 2. Anda dapat gunakan untuk perhitungan dalam kasus khusus, seperti kasus angka/data yang dihapus atau ditambahkan ke kumpulan data

  8. Contoh #1 Coba hitung gaji pegawai ke-5 dari cerita ini! “TOP Electronics is a small business with five employees. The mean (average) weekly salary for the five employees is Rp 360.000,- . If the weekly salaries of four of the employees are Rp 340.000, Rp 340.000, Rp 345.000, and Rp 425.000, what is the salary of the fifth employee?”

  9. X5 adalah gaji pegawai no 5 Jadi, gaji pegawai nomor 5 adalah Rp 350.000 per minggu. Mudah, bukan? Hitungannya (dalam ribu):

  10. Contoh #2 Carilah data temperatur hari Jumat! “The students in Spiluqkim Junior High School’s meteorology class measured the noon temperature every schoolday for a week. Their readings for the first 4 days were Monday, 56°F; Tuesday, 72°F; Wednesday, 67°F; and Thursday, 61°F. If the mean (average) temperature for the 5 days was exactly 63°F, what was the temperature on Friday?”

  11. Hitungannya (dalam oF): X5 adalah data temperatur hari Jumat Jadi, data temperatur hari Jumat adalah 59oF Mudah, bukan?
