  2. Reading Quiz Identify the leaders of France and England that appeased Adolf Hitler by signing the Munich Pact. Hitler utilized this tactic to quickly defeat Poland in September 1939. The Soviet Union and Germany signed this agreement to not fight. He was the leader of Free France which was the government in exile in England.

  3. Agenda/Topics To Be Covered The students will describe the Nazis’ “final solution to the Jewish problem and the horrors of the Holocaust by explaining the reasons for Nazi persecution of the Jews Announcement: Chapter 16 Test Next Tuesday Drill: Examine the graphs and images on pages 556-557 and answer the following: 1. What reaction do you think people had when they saw images like these for the 1st time? 2. What percent of Holocaust victims were Jews?

The difficulty is that no country wishes to receive them.” Germany’s foreign minister 60,000 Jews came to the U.S. U.S. reluctant to accept Jews-Great Depression, anti-Sematism, “enemy agents”
