  1. Create-a-Quiz Directions: • Make your own quiz. • Use 8 vocabulary words: • Make 4 open-ended questions – Example – Describe a time that you have been intractable. What were you doing? Answer – I wanted to score the game winning goal, so I refused to pass the ball, when I was near the goal. • Make 4 fill-in-the-blank sentences. • Write 1-2 sentences and label subject, verb, prepositional phrase, direct object, and indirect object. Use all parts. (You don’t have to use all parts in one single sentence, but you should use all parts in 2 sentences, if you can’t put them all into one.) • Write 1 sentence and label the 3 types of modifiers we have discussed.

  2. Journal • Write about a time that you felt unsafe. Try to show me the important details about what you saw, heard, and felt. Leave out the unimportant details.

  3. Reading Questions: Black Men and Public Spaces • This essay is written differently from what we have analyzed thus far. How is structured differently? What unifies it? • What does the writer try to accomplish? Does he accomplish it? How does he do it or not do it?
