Geography Shapes Culture • Lived by rivers, learned to fish, made hooks, and boats • Lived near forest built houses from wood, other areas used mud or stone • Religion shaped by geography- Hapi controlled Nile River • First societies developed along rivers • Mountains, deserts, and rivers for protection

  10. Geography Influenced History • Natural resources made some rich • Floods killed millions • Droughts caused food shortage • People have cut down and planted millions of trees • Build lakes, dams, and wastelands
