Team Functions Administration and Outreach • Executive Committee (all subteams participate) • Congregational input and discernment • Develop and maintain mission statement • Develop preliminary estimates of feasibility • Communicate with Kirk staff • Keep the heart and spirit in the efforts • Keep the team activities “open”

Team Functions • Form and support prayer teams • Develop spiritual resources for subteams, events • Discern God’s will for the approach, programs, events, projects • Discern the Kirk’s role in the community and town we serve Spirituality • “To whom much is given, much is required.” • Lead discerning with “with need to be in prayer about this”

Team Functions • Encourage congregation members to be involved in the activities of this Ministry Team as leaders and team members • Set goals for involvement, such as “50% of the giving units are represented” • Assist other committees as they need to schedule and produce events and activities Recruitment

Team Functions • Find ways to involve the broadest cross section of congregational demographics (by age, by location, by affinity groups, by levels of activity • Help the recruiting team enlist such people to strengthen our subteams • Develop and use marketing approaches to make the messaging appropriate to the demographic subset Church Family • “What motivates you to be active in the Kirk?” • “Why do you worship at the Kirk?”

Team Functions • Three functions • Ordinary communications • Krier, Bulletin, Windows • Printed, formal communications and their production and distribution • Brochures, flyers, email • Creative content of the approach and types • Social Media • Video, both casual and lasting Communications • Frequently asked questions • Develop the statement of need • Celebrate the Kirk’s 35th anniversary (charter member videos) • Our track record of stepping out in faith • Address all “learning” styles • Videos of children of Kirk now adults

  9. Team Functions • Organize and execute the major events of this ministry team • Kick off lunch • In home meetings Events and Hospitality • Not responsible for content of the events

  10. Team Functions • Determine the best ways to finance the vision • Organize, receive and track pledges • Acknowledge gifts and organize any follow-up activities Finance

Team Functions • Develop, with congregational input, the specific fit up requirements for the space • Keep in close step with the spirituality team • Keep within budgets • Communicate with individuals and groups • Transition plans Architecture and Building Planning • Refine the existing building plans

Team Functions • Plan for outbound communications to the congregation and various interest groups • Plan on the need to educate the congregation in the basics of stewardship, pledging, capital campaigns • Receive input from the congregation – their hopes and fears, support and challenges – to help craft the appropriate communication content along with the communications committee Education • Be a clearinghouse to and from other subteams
