1. Grades Grades are point based and consist solely of in class participation & assignments. Homework will not be given. Special note Course Description Math 8 Academy is designed to support students in their core math class through both early exposure and extra practice of the Math 8 concepts. In class, students will engage in hands-on activities, discovery lessons, problem solving, skills practice, and collaborative activities that will aid in students’ understanding of the Math 8 standards and help build students’ overall self-confidence in math. An ‘A’ in this course does not indicate full mastery of the Math 8 standards. Rather, it indicates the student is actively working toward success in his/her Math 8 class. *Check Q for grade updates!* A = 90% - 100% B= 80% - 89% C = 70% - 79% D = 60% - 69% F = 0% - 59% ACADEMY PLACEMENT Students’ placement in Math 8 Academy will be reevaluated each trimester. Students may be moved in or out of academy based on progress and/or behavior.
