  2. Complete the FAFSA • FAFSA.ed.gov • School code – 003131 • PIN.ed.gov

  3. Additional Documentation Once your FAFSA is reviewed, additional information may be required. Some examples of needed documentation would be signed copies of your federal tax returns, W2s, proof of citizenship, household size.

  4. Award Notification • Receive first notification through the mail, any changes via email • Accept, decline or reduce online through the MyUT portal or by signing your award notification and returning a copy • GradPLUS cannot be accepted on-line, it requires a paper application

  5. Loan Process • Complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) • Separate MPN for Stafford, GradPLUS and Perkins • Complete Entrance Counseling • Separate Counseling for Stafford, GradPLUS and Perkins

  6. Summer Financial Aid • Next summer will be a part of the 2010-2011 academic year. • There is a summer application required to receive an award package to include the summer term.

  7. Provisional or Special Student Admission Status • To be eligible for federal financial aid, you must be admitted in an degree-seeking program. If you have been admitted under “provisional” or “special student” status, you will not be eligible for federal financial aid.

  8. Enrollment Status • If you intend to enroll in undergraduate or mixed level (both graduate and undergraduate) courses, it could affect your eligibility for federal financial aid.

  9. GradPLUS Loans Interest Rate is fixed at 7.9% Credit Based, may use an endorser (cosigner) if denied Federal loan Alternative Loans Variable Interest Rates Credit Based, most require a cosigner NOT a federal Loan GradPLUS vs. Alternative Loans
