ADI is Expanding the isoPower Portfolio • Introducing the Newest Versions of Our Popular isoPower Products • Achieving 150mW of Output Power in a Tiny SSOP-20 Package • Input voltages range from 3.3V to 5V • Output voltage is resistor adjustable from 3.15V to 5V • Regulated output with internal PWM feedback • Power saving Enable feature • Including Digital Isolators which are Superior to Optocouplers • Higher speed – up to 100Mbps • Lower power • Higher reliability • Higher levels of integration making them easier to use

What is isoPower? • isoPower is the Worlds Smallest Isolated DC/DC Module Using ADI’s Patented iCoupler Micro-transformers • Air-core transformers are manufactured on a standard CMOS wafers with 20um of polyimide isolation • 3.75kVrms 1minute withstand • 400Vrms 50year working voltage Isolated DC/DC Top Coil Gold 20um Polyimide Insulation 2 Digital Isolators Bottom Coil Aluminum CMOS Silicon Substrate

  4. isoPower Operation 125MHz Tank Oscillator Regulated output 5V • Secondary side regulation • Current rectified and filtered • Regulator creates PWM based on selected set point • Primary Side • PWM controls tank oscillator • During startup tank stays on until output is in regulation 250MHz Rectified Current 600kHz PWM Tank Control

Smaller and Easier to Use than Traditional Solutions • Discrete designs require many components and lot’s of board space • Certified Isolated DC/DC modules are also large with 2x higher price • Digital isolators are not included • isoPower takes little board space and no additional components – just bypass capacitors • Digital isolators are in the same package for even more space savings ADuM5010 DC/DC Module Discrete Design
