  2. Creating a Backup File: From the ControlPanel or DesignerLinks, Choose ManageCourse. Under the heading BackupCourse, Choose Create Backup.

  3. Creating a Backup File: From the Create Backup screen, provide a brief description of the backup (reason for it). The File name will contain date and will be created by default. Click the Create button.

  4. Creating a Backup File: When the backup is complete, the Success message will appear and the backup file is now visible. Click the Continue button.

  5. Creating a Backup File: On the Backup Courses screen, the file information is now visible and it includes your text description.

  6. Downloading a Backup File: Click the radio button to the left of the desired file. Once selected (button appears green), Click the download button.

  7. Downloading a Backup File: The File Download dialog box will appear. Click the Save button.

  8. Downloading a Backup File: Browse to the location on your computer where the file should be stored. My backup folder is showing in the Save in: text field. The Backup File Name is is the File name: text field. Click the Save button.

  9. Downloading a Backup File: Once the download is complete, you will see the box on the right. Depending on the size of your course, and your connection speed, it could take some time. Click the Close button.

  10. Uploading a Backup File: From the Backup Courses screen in Designer Options, click the Upload backup button.

  11. Uploading a Backup File: Browse to locate the file. Once located, click the Open button.

  12. Uploading a Backup File: The Filename is now visible in the Filename text box. Click the Upload button. The Backup file is now saved in your course shell.

  13. Resetting or Restoring From a Backup File: Click the radio button to the left of the desired file. Note the details associated with each of the restore options. Choose carefully. Reset course does a Total Reset, students and Messages.

  14. Resetting or Restoring From a Backup File: Be certain that you have chosen the correct option. You will only have one chance to back out. Click the OK button. A progress indicator screen is now visible. You will see a Green Success message when the process is complete.
