  4. Athletics is a Privilege As both a representative of both Staley Middle School and Frisco ISD, athletes will be held to a higher standard at school and in athletic competition.

  5. Paperwork Required for Participation in All Sports • SMS Athletics Participation Contract • Acknowledgement of Rules • Pre-participation Physical Evaluation (New for 2012- must be completed yearly) • Anabolic Steroid Agreement • FISD Student Athlete Travel Form

  6. Team and Individual Sports • Football • Basketball • Cross Country • Track • Soccer

  7. Weekly Information Keep up to date with weekly updates by following the Boys Athletics link on the Staley Website.

  8. Football Who can play? Anyone interested in learning the game or developing skills for the future. In middle school, we encourage our athletes to try as many sports as possible and become more selective in high school. 2 teams for each grade- no tryouts or cuts, but game play depends on effort and knowledge of skills being taught in practice.

  9. Football What equipment is needed? Shoes and athletic underwear. We provide everything else at equipment issue (TBD). When are practices? Practice is held daily M-F beginning at 7:00 am. Practice schedules will change slightly when game play begins. Athletes are to be dropped off at the SMS field house in time to dress and be on the field by the start of practice.

  10. Football When and where are games? Games are played on Monday and Tuesday. 7th grade is Monday and 8th grade is Tuesday. Games are played at 5:45 and 7:15. All games are in Frisco. How will my son get to the game? All athletes will ride the bus to and from the game with the team.

  11. Football Where do I pick my son up after the game? Parents will pick their son(s) up at the SMS field house. (Further details will be available at equipment issue- TBD)

  12. Football In terms of scheme and philosophy, we teach and run the schemes of our feeder schools, FHS and WHS. Our goal is to prepare our athletes for success beyond middle school.

  13. Timeline- Practice begins the 1st day of school, and our season ends in early November. Further details will be sent out as soon as dates are released.

  14. Team Volunteers- Contact Ms. Aldana to volunteer AldanaI@friscoisd.org - we need a / many team mom(s) to decorate lockers, organize pregame meals for athletes and coaches, and to provide pregame snacks for our kids. .

  15. Summer Strength and Conditioning Camp http://www.friscoisd.org/ Athletics/ Summer Camps- registration West Middle Schools - Staley Boys S&C 9:00 am- 11:00 am. Cash only Form will be sent home in the next few days. .
