Do try this at home Leadership in learning for an adaptive Navy F2F instruction to deliver information-based content (basic recall & recognition) Engages lowest level of Bloom’s Taxonomy Facilitator consolidates learning driving into higher levels of Bloom’s by problem solving, role plays, simulations, case studies, and other activities requiring trainees to operate in higher level cognitive domains. Pre-course and out-of-classroom learning, via LMS or other means

Watch this space … They are accustomed to learning with technology, and expect the freedom and flexibility that it provides (Bennett, Maton, & Kervin, 2008) They have gone through school with laptops, tablets, and mobile phones – not known a different world This is the current generation of Navy trainees Gen Z/Next 20% of the workforce 2020 98% have used tech in education Rapidly adopt tech Hold expectation of convenience, flexibility, & personalisation in the workplace Allison Baum Their social lives are heavily reliant on social networking sites. Many are dedicated gamers, spending hours each week immersed in virtual worlds

Watch this space … Connectivism Learning is distributed across networks and occurs in communities Via collaboration Learners engaged in the community in which the skills will need to be applied Encouraging sharing is optimal LCPC Capstone Project! The LCPC: a case point Four week residential to fifteen week program with two week residential component: • One week orientation (LMS) • Capstone project (thirteen week) • Three key modules:  • Management and Administration • Strategic Studies   • Leadership • Residential phase (NLDW-2 & Senior Officer briefs)
