GENESIS THE THE DEPARTURE OF CAIN - (Gen. 4:16-24) GENESIS Introduction: Many books could have written about this PERIOD, but the Holy Spirit compressed the story into 140 verses in five and half chapters. Jesus called this time, “THE DAYS OF NOAH.” – (Matt 24:32-42). What He meant was that, as the LAST DAYS get closer they will be more and more like the days of Noah. The people of Noah’s day were preoccupied with mundane matters of every day life (“eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage”—v. 38), when suddenly JUDGMENT fell suddenly upon them.

GENESIS THE THE DEPARTURE OF CAIN - (Gen. 4:16-24) GENESIS CAIN'S DEPARTURE - (4:16A) FROM - The PRESENCE of the Lord - v. 1a The Hebrew word for presence is (paw-neem) and means “FACE” The root of this word is (paw-naw) and means, “to turn form, or turn you back upon” Together it says, “That Cain turned his back on the face of God”

GENESIS THE THE DEPARTURE OF CAIN - (Gen. 4:16-24) GENESIS TO - The land of the NOD - v. 1b The Hebrew word for VAGABOND is (nood), and means “to move to and frow” The Hebrew for NOD in (node) and means “wandering” Nod is "vagabond."God had made him Nod; and Cain settles himself in a land called after his own name."

  7. GENESIS THE THE DEPARTURE OF CAIN - (Gen. 4:16-24) GENESIS THE MEANING OF FUGITIVE AND VAGABOND When God called Cain a fugitive and a vagabond. He simply meant that Cain’s punishment was to be EXILED from acceptable society, and to be a homeless criminal on the run.

Cain’s world had BUILDERS, they built a city (4:17) Our world today is full builders. And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son—Enoch.

GENESIS ENOCH DEPERTURE - (5:21-24 GENESIS Geniesis 5:21-24 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. 22 After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

  25. GENESIS ENOCH DEPERTURE - (5:21-24) GENESIS WHAT DOES THE SCRIPITURES TELL US ABOUT ENOCH? 1. He possessed great FAITH - (Heb. 11:5a) By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

He WALKED with God 300 years - (5:22) Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. 22 After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.

He was the first preacher in history. He warned the godless teachers present in his day about the coming JUDGMENT – (2:Pet. 2:11-15)

Are we building Christian VALUES in our lives? 2. 1 John 3:15 Whoever HATES his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 3. Are we living GODLY lives, lives that pleases God like Enoch? 4. Sin CONTROL Cain’ life. How are we doing? 5. Is our faith STRONG like Enoch? 6. Are we WALKING with God each day? 7. Is our Christian life PLEASING to God like Enoch was?
