  2. About Digital Steel International Digital Steel International is the one of the renowned and pioneering steel company in Fresno, California, which deals in various kind of Steel and metal work. Digital Steel International is the one stop shop for all of your metal needs. The company, founded by David Key was the result of the vision he saw to let contractors and constructors frame their facilities with a better and stronger material derived from recycled steel that can be framed faster than traditional means.

Digital Steel International, who acquired Virtual Engineering, is changing the way builders frame their facilities. Engineer, innovator and entrepreneur David Key, has developed a unique green technology that provides a stronger structure for less money. Digital Steel International is in the process of building a 100,000 square foot facility that robotically assembles light gauge steel walls in large puzzle pieces. By mass producing pre-assembled walls, Digital Steel International can offer builders a better product for less money. “David Key has already saved us thousands of dollars on our projects as a result of the pre-assembled walls” says Bob Jacobs of West Cove Constructors, Inc.

Vision for Digital Steel International by David Key The company was founded by David Key with a vision to offer efficient and effective steel solutions to companies that rely on steel for their framing needs. “Green recycled steel is abundant throughout the world, yet builders continue to use wood as a framing material”, states Key. “Light gauge steel is one of the toughest materials available with a list of benefits that far exceed the specifications of wood. Twelve recycled junked cars can frame an entire house. Why we haven’t been using these resources have been a mystery to me,” says Key. Since its inception, Digital Steel International (formerly known as Virtual Engineering) has provided builders with quality engineering while offering an innovative and cost effective way to frame commercial buildings. David Key plans on expanding his facility in 2004 as larger projects continue to drive the market.
