  3. Leadership is the key! • Get leadership support and participation in special events • Get formal introduction of your campaign (email or letter) from leadership • Seek permission to conduct specific campaign activities: • Training • Planning • Special fundraising events

  4. Recruit Your Team! Invite people who are: • Enthusiastic • Outgoing • Dependable • Positive • Well respected Invite people to help you by matching task with talents!

  5. Develop a good Plan What you need: • Fit your campaign vision and purpose • Have a good theme • Incorporate past campaign successes • Be equipped with goals for success • Have a specific timetable

  6. Communicating Key Messages • WAC-supported use of state time and resources • One-stop shop • Give locally, national, or globally • Charities are vetted and registered with the state of Washington • Secure, convenient and efficient Now more than ever!!!

  7. Ways to get the word out! Use them all…often: • Posters • Fliers • Newsletters • Email • Newspapers • Radio • Agency & local websites • Leadership and staff meetings • Invite charities to come speak at your event

  8. Know your audience Tailor your information to the group: • New Employees • Retiring Employees • Leadership • Volunteers

  9. Partner with Charities You can invite charities to come speak at your agency fundraisers about what they do for the community and what donors can do to help.
