  11. High School is changing Graduation in 3 – 4 years. Hybrid diplomas – Laney courses, college courses, NCVPS courses (21 mid year graduates this past January) Optional acceleration starts this summer w/ NCVPS Letter of recommendation from Middle School Principal

  12. Promotion Requirements 9th to 10th grade = 6 credits (English 1 and Algebra 1) 10th to 11th grade = 12 credits 11th to 12th grade = 20 credits (Transfer students may have an adjusted number of credits based on historical transcript.)

How to Register • Current Public School student living in Laney’s district – automatic enrollment • Current Public School student living outside Laney’s district – apply for Open Choice due February 25-April 12 • Current Private School student – call Lynn Rabon at extension 213 to make an enrollment appointment

Overall grade point average of athletes at Laney is 3.7 • Fall – football, soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis, x-country • Winter - basketball, swimming, wrestling, gymnastics • Spring – track, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, lacrosse, soccer • 4 seniors (2014) will go on to play in college • 11/13 fall and winter teams were designated as scholar athlete teams with team GPA above 3.1 • Most of our practices and games are located on our safe and secure campus. (Swim and Golf are not) • 4th period PE elective opportunities

Dual enrollment at UNC-W & CFCC Laney was designated a North Carolina School of Distinction in 2010, 2011, 2012. Highest Graduation Rate in NHCS Laney met all federal goals in 2012.
